A Letter from Doug

When I retired from my first career in 2007, I knew one thing—I wasn't ready to stop creating.

I've always enjoyed working with wood, building things with my hands, and meeting people. Opening Downtown Frame of Mine gave me the opportunity to combine those things into a business that has brought me tremendous satisfaction over the years.

For me, the greatest reward has never simply been building the frame. It's watching a customer's reaction when they see their finished piece for the first time. Every piece that comes through the door has a story behind it—artwork, photographs, family memories, accomplishments and things that simply mean something to the person who brought them in. I've had the privilege of helping people preserve and display those things for nearly twenty years.

Now, as I prepare for retirement once again, my hope isn't simply to sell the equipment and inventory I've accumulated. I'd like to find someone who sees the opportunity in what has been built here and who will enjoy this craft and this business as much as I have.

Downtown Frame of Mine is an established, fully equipped custom framing shop with the tools, equipment, materials and inventory needed to continue operating. I'm also willing to spend time with the new owner sharing what I've learned and providing hands-on training to help make the transition successful.

There is a great deal here for someone who enjoys working with their hands, being creative and working with people.

After all these years, I think it's simply time for someone else to take it from here.
